This 1975 BMW 520i is a European-market example sold new in Sweden and subsequently imported to North America under prior ownership. Power is provided by a 2.0-liter M10 inline-four equipped with Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection and mated to a four-speed manual gearbox. The body is finished in Polaris Silver, and the car is equipped with European-market bumpers, Hella headlamps, and 14″ alloy wheels. Provided records show a fuel pump replacement, fresh fluids, and updates to the brakes, while a general inspection was reportedly completed in preparation for the sale. This E12 is now offered at no reserve by the selling dealer with a maintenance summary, records, and a clean Washington State title.
The Paul Bracq-styled bodywork is finished in Polaris Silver and features European-market bumpers, Hella headlamps with wipers, and chrome side mirrors. BMW-branded mud flaps can be seen behind the rear wheel arches.
The suspension features McPherson struts at the front and semi-trailing arms at the rear, and braking is provided by front discs and rear drums. Factory 14″ multispoke wheels are fitted with older Uniroyal tires.
Inside, the front seats and rear bench are covered in blue velour upholstery with matching vinyl backing, contrasted by a black dash and wood trim. Additional photos of the interior are included in the gallery below.
Instrumentation includes a 220-km/h speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,400-rpm redline as well as fuel and temperature gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 13k kilometers (~8k miles).
The 2.0-liter M10 inline-four is equipped with Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection as seen on the contemporary 2002tii models and sends power to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox. Maintenance completed in 2017 included a new fuel pump, alternator mounts, fluid changes, and rebuilt brake calipers, while a general inspection is said to have been performed in preparation for the sale.
Photos are provided in the gallery to illustrate the underside, drivetrain, and suspension components.
