This 1976 Porsche 930 Turbo Carrera was ordered new in Ice Green Metallic over color-to-sample full leather and is equipped with its matching-numbers 3.0L turbo six and original 4-speed manual gearbox. The included Porsche Certificate of Authenticity details additional delivery options, including sport seats and a power sunroof. The car is said to retain its original paint and won first place in the preservation class at the 50th annual Porsche Parade Concours d’Elegance in 2005. It was acquired by the seller in Pennsylvania in 2014 after 15 years with its fourth owner. A fluid service, valve adjustment, and 4-wheel alignment were carried out approximately 100 miles ago along with installation of a new oil line, CV joints, and Pirelli tires. This 930 shows 43k miles and is sold with records from 2000 onward, stock braking parts, and a clean Texas title.
Ice Green Metallic is the original color according to the included CoA. The finish is shown up close in the gallery below along with black trim, exterior seals, and other cosmetics. Gallery photos have been provided showing a number of paint depth meter readings taken from around the body, indicating that the finish is original. Minor flaws include a shallow scratch on the sunroof and fading on the rear spoiler.
The headlights have been upgraded to H4 items, though the original sugar scoop headlight trim will be included with the sale. The seller describes factory items such as a windshield wearing correct Porsche, Sigla and Made in W. Germany markings along with 1972-dated Bosch taillight lenses, a power antenna, a dated spare tire, and dated 15″ forged Fuchs wheels. The latter were fitted with new Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires under 100 miles ago.
Factory sport seats are said to retain their original color-to-sample leather. The seller had the original sun-damaged dash matched with a custom-dyed hide from Relicate Custom Leather in Johnstown, New York, and recovered by Autobahn Interiors. The remainder of the custom-dyed hide will be provided to the new owner.
The correct Bamberg radio was recently serviced and is said to work as it should, including the cassette player, and the microphone is located in the driver footwell as is correct for 1976 cars. Just over 43k miles are shown on the 5-digit odometer. The air conditioning system has not been charged or operated by the seller, who recommends the new owner assume that it will require service.
Power is from a turbocharged 3.0L flat-six paired with a 4-speed manual transaxle. The seller had both fuel pumps rebuilt by Fuel Injection Corporation in Tracy, California in 2015. A service performed by Eagle Racing in Dripping Springs, Texas approximately 100 miles ago consisted of a valve adjustment, new oil line, replacement CV joints, fluid change, and 4-wheel alignment. The work order is shown in the gallery below.
The engine stamp shown above includes the final four numbers 0425, which match the corresponding digits on the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity below. Transmission number 760439 is shown in the gallery.
The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity indicates the original exterior color of Ice Green Metallic as well as the color to sample full leather interior, sport seats, and power sunroof.
The underside pan is shown above. A later Porsche “Big Red” brake setup was installed in 2001 according to included documentation, and the original brake components will also be provided to the new owner.
Four previous owners are said to be recorded in the owner’s manual, with mileage documented each time the car changed hands. The previous owner had the car for nearly 15 years, and records dating from 2000 are included in the sale along with a tool kit, jack, and memorabilia from the class win at the 2005 Porsche Parade Concours d’Elegance. The seller encourages in-person inspections prior to the close of the auction. Filed under: 911, 911 turbo, 930, 930 turbo
