45k-Mile 1976 Porsche 911S Coupe PrivateCars - Elk River - 17 views
This 1976 Porsche 911S was sold new at Carousel Porsche-Audi of Minneapolis and was acquired six months ago by the seller, who believes himself its third owner. The car is powered by a 2.7-liter flat-six paired with a 5-speed manual transaxle and finished in Burgundy Metallic over a tan interior. A factory sunroof is equipped, while modifications include an aftermarket rear spoiler and stereo. Maintenance in 2018 consisted of a new fuel pump, distributor cap, rotor, and spark plugs along with repacked front wheel bearings and more. This 911S shows 45k miles and is offered with service records from new and a clean Minnesota title in the seller’s name.
Paintwork in Burgundy Metallic (436) was reportedly reapplied in 1997 to remedy chips and dings, while a finish correction and application of a protective coating were conducted in June 2018. Remaining chips are noted on the sideview mirror, lower front spoiler, and right quarter panel. The car is fitted with a powered sunroof, heated and powered driver-side mirror, and aftermarket spoiler.
Black 15″ Fuchs wheels future polished lips and Porsche crest center caps and are fitted with older 205/60 Goodyear Eagle GS-N tires that are said to show good tread depth, per the seller. The brake fluid was flushed and new rear brake pads installed in 2016, and the front wheel bearings were repacked in May 2018. The Koni rear shocks are reportedly 20 years old.
Reclining tan front buckets were reupholstered in April 2003 by C&E Upholstery of Savage, Minnesota, and new carpets were installed as well. The seller notes that the headlight knob is loose but functional. A fire extinguisher is mounted behind the front seats.
A 3-spoke steering wheel sits in front of a black and tan dashboard featuring VDO gauges and an aftermarket Sony cassette deck. The 6-digit odometer shows just under 45k miles, about 800 of which were added by the seller.
The 2.7-liter flat-six is paired with a 5-speed manual transaxle. A 2018 service at Porsche Minneapolis included a new fuel pump, filter and accumulator, distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs and wires, and fuel injector as well as a timing reset and fuel/air mixture adjustment. Work in 2016 at Auto Edge of Mahtomedi, Minnesota included a new alternator belt and air cleaner pop-off valve repair.
Additional underbody photos are available in the gallery below. Oil seepage is noted from the cam covers.
Records dating from new are included in the sale, as are leather driving gloves and a spare tire.
