Location: Dallas
Price: $33,975 Negotiable

This 1976 Porsche 911S Targa is finished in Emerald Green Metallic over Cinnamon partial leather and was reportedly sold new in California. The car went to Bend, Oregon years later, and the seller bought it in July 2016. He subsequently moved it to Dallas, Texas and had a local independent shop rebuild the numbers-matching 2.7-liter flat-six and original 5-speed manual transaxle. An 11-blade fan and MSD Street Fire CDI ignition system were later installed, among other upgrades listed below. Approximately 6k miles have been added by the seller, and the odometer now shows just 61k miles. This 911S is now being offered with recent service records, receipts for the engine/transaxle rebuilds, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.

The seller is a board member of the PCA Maverick Region, and he states that a repaint in the factory-correct Emerald Green Metallic (Y9) was performed several years ago. The finish now shows some dings, chips, and flaws, a few of which are highlighted in the gallery below. The original targa top had a cracked frame, so the seller purchased a restored unit from LA Dismantlers.

The CoA indicates that the car was optioned with Fuchs wheels when new. The factory 15″ have been restored, and 195/65 series Michelin A/S Premier tires were mounted about 5k miles ago.

Inside, this 911S was delivered with Cinnamon partial leather and a 380mm sport steering wheel. Cracks in the dashboard and door panels are shown in the gallery, while the seats appear to have been reupholstered at some point prior to the seller’s purchase. A set of Coco floor mats protect the factory carpets.

The seller had The Steele Shop in Dallas install a Porsche Classic radio unit with USB ports, plus four new speakers and a custom adjustable/removable subwoofer that sits in the driver-side rear seat area as pictured in the gallery. Currently the 6-digit odometer indicates just over 61k miles.

A walk-around video can be viewed above.

After purchasing the car in 2016, the seller had a local independent shop rebuild the 2.7-liter flat-six, including the top and bottom ends and upgraded Carrera chain tensioners. The 915 transaxle was also overhauled, and an 11-blade fan has been added along with an MSD ignition system. Mayo Performance in Euless, Texas has serviced the car since the rebuilds, and maintenance records from the seller’s ownership accompany the sale.

Stamping *6560380* is shown above and matches the CoA, confirming the engine as original to the vehicle.

Transmission #7161051 can be seen in the gallery below and also matches the CoA.

Per the Certificate of Authenticity, this 911S Targa was completed in September 1975 finished in Emerald Green Metallic over Cinnamon partial leather. The original engine and transmission numbers are also listed along with factory options. Additional videos are shown below.
