This 1975 Ferrari 308 GT4 is a Series I example built in May 1975 and is powered by a 3.0L DOHC V8 coupled with a five-speed manual transaxle. The car underwent a color change to Nuovo Giallo Fly under previous ownership, and equipment includes a black leather interior, pop-up headlights, 14” Cromodora wheels, and more. The timing belt was replaced in 2016, while work in 2019 included replacing the suspension bushings, brake lines, and differential axle seals. This 308 GT4 is offered by the selling dealer with service records, a workshop manual, original tool kit, and a clean California title.
The 308 was designed by Marcello Gandini and was the first production Ferrari to feature Bertone bodywork. Originally finished in Verde Germoglio (20-G-465), this example had previously been repainted red and underwent a bare-metal color change to its current shade of Nuovo Giallo Fly by its previous owner. A handful of photos from the associated work are provided in the image gallery below. The front and rear side markers were deleted and their mounting holes were filled. The rear valance has also been removed, although it is included in the sale.
Factory 14” Cromodora wheels have been powder coated and wrapped in Michelin XWX tires that show 2017 date codes. The selling dealer states that the brake calipers have been plated and rebuilt, while work carried out by RMT Motorsports in Yorba Linda, California in February 2019 included new front and rear ball joints, suspension bushings, shock and sway bar bushings, and brake lines.
Black leather seats are joined by a matching dashboard and replacement Wilton carpets in the cabin and front trunk. A Concord cassette radio is mounted vertically on the center tunnel adjacent to the gated shifter. The air conditioning was repaired in 2016, and a new ignition key set was fitted in 2018. The selling dealer notes wear on the carpets and driver’s seat bolster as well as damage to the center console.
A three-spoke steering wheel fronts Veglia instrumentation including a 180-mph speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, a quartz clock, and a five-digit odometer that shows just over 70k miles. The chassis number tag is affixed to the top of the steering column, and the speedometer was repaired in 2019.
The 3.0L DOHC V8 was factory-rated at 240 horsepower when new and is linked to a five-speed manual transaxle. In 2016, FastCars Ltd. of Redondo Beach, California performed a major service that included replacing the timing belt, installing new camshaft seals and spark plugs, and converting the ignition to an electronic Petronix system as detailed on the invoices below. Additional work included a new clutch, reground flywheel, and a new pilot bearing, along with rebuilding the master cylinder and booster. The differential axle seals were replaced in 2019 by RMT Motorsports.
Additional photos of the underbody, suspension, and brakes are viewable below.
The factory tool kit and jack is included in the sale, along with a workshop manual and service records. A walk-around and driving video is provided below.
