1975 Citroen DS23 Pallas PrivateCars - Kirkland - 6 views
This 1975 Citroën DS23 Pallas is one of 847 examples built during the final year of production for the DS model, and was imported to the United States from Holland within the past decade. Finished in Rouge Cornaline and Gris Nacre, this sedan is powered by a 2.3-liter inline-four paired with a Citromatic transmission. Features include hydropneumatic suspension, power-assisted steering and brakes, and swiveling headlights. The last major service was performed in 2018 by marque specialist Chris Middleton of Seattle, Washington, and included installing a new starter, water pump, belts, cooling hoses, and suspension boots, as well as a reconditioned hydraulic system pump. This DS23 Pallas is being offered by the selling dealer with recent service records and a Washington State title.
The exterior was reportedly refinished in Rouge Cornaline (AC419) with a Gris Nacre (AC095) roof panel sometime before the vehicle was imported to the US. As a Pallas model, the car features brushed metal C-pillars and a polished beltline, as well as trim on the upper and lower edges of the fenders and doors. Closeups of various imperfections are provided in the gallery below, and the seller notes areas of small bubbles or solvent pop in sections of the paint.
Stock 15” wheels wear stainless covers and were mounted with new Federal tires in 2018. Service at Chris Middleton’s workshop in 2018 included rebuilding the LHM hydraulic pump and overhauling the rear suspension, as shown on invoices provided in the gallery.
A walk-around video is shown above.
The interior has been reupholstered in grey cloth over matching carpeting, with white vinyl on the door panels. The range-topping Pallas model featured additional interior trim, better noise insulation, thicker door panels, and higher-quality carpets. Closeups of each door panel, the headliner, and the rear bench seat are provided in the gallery below.
A single-spoke steering wheel frames Jaeger gauges, including a 200-km/h speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer. The five-digit odometer shows 11k kilometers (~7k miles). The Citromatic four-speed semi-automatic gearbox is shifted from the column.
The carbureted 2,347cc inline-four was rated for 115 horsepower when new. Service in 2018 included installing a new water pump, fuel pump, accessory belts, cooling hoses, a re-cored radiator, and a Valeo starter. A valve adjustment, tune-up, and fluid change were also performed at this time.
A cold-start video can be viewed above.
A stainless muffler and rear exhaust are fitted, and additional photos of the undercarriage and suspension are provided in the gallery. A warm-start and driving video is attached below.
